Google AdSense Auto Ads: Everything You Need to Know!

Google AdSense is by far the best ad program on this planet. Whether it has many alternatives, but in terms of innovation, user-friendliness, and overall experience, no other competitor has been able to perform better than this.

On February 21, 2018, the AdSense team launched Google Auto ads for everyone. This is one of the biggest innovations done by the AdSense team in recent times. Even auto ads will change your perspective according to which you have been using AdSense.

Ad placement, ad optimization, and maintaining a good user experience are among the biggest concerns of most AdSense publishers.

Google Auto Ads publishers, use artificial intelligence to manage everything. However, as a publisher, you can manage these things:

  • Global Settings: When to display ads.
  • Domain-based setting: Configure this thing which ads show on which domain or subdomain.
  • Directory Settings: You can configure what kind of ads are shown in a particular directory. For example, in pages with pagination and pages with archive, you would like to not show ads with matched content, then you can control this thing from the settings panel of AdSense. This feature is known as Advanced URL settings. You can learn more about it from here.

So far we have got only mixed reviews from users regarding auto ads. Still, I am optimistic about the future of main AdSense auto ads as it will lighten the burden of ad optimization from the publisher’s head and the blogger will be able to focus all his attention only on creating great content. Google AdSense has always been a plug-and-play program, but now it has become completely automatic. The credit for this goes to Artificial Intelligence.

Important things to know about AdSense Auto ads

For anyone who has ever used Google AdSense, Auto Ads is not a problem at all. However, before using auto-ads, there are some things that you should know. It will answer the questions that you have in your mind regarding its integration.

  • If you have already installed AdSense ads on your blog, you can decide that you do not want to remove them now. AdSense Auto ads will automatically detect them, and more ads will be displayed accordingly.
  • Are you already using Anchor or Vignette ads? Autodesk includes Anchor and Vignette ads, as well as text and display ads, in-feed, and matched content ads. Note that all users who use page-level ads will be migrated to auto ads without the need to add any code. Still, it would be a great idea to set up global settings for auto-ads by logging into your AdSense account.

How to Enable Google AdSense Auto Ads?

If you want to learn by watching a video, then a video is given below for you, but it is in English. That’s why we have given the complete guide in text form below:

  • Login to your Google AdSense account
  • Go to Ads > Auto Ads.
  • Click on ‘Setup Auto Ads’.
  • Configure Global settings.
  • By enabling automatically, new formats will come below.
  • Then click on save.
  • Now put ad codes on every page of your blog or website. We use Google Tag Manager for this. You can use any great technique for yourself. If you are already using page-level ads, then you do not need to do anything.
  • You can always check the performance of Google Auto ads by going to My Ads > Auto ads and going to Statistics.
  • Overall it will be interesting to see how Google Auto Ads fares in the future. As of now, we are getting only mixed reviews about it. Some people are complaining that this system is showing them more ads.

But as I ate earlier, over time this is something that everyone will have to adapt to, so as this system uses machine learning, it will automatically improve over time.
